April Daniel, Assistant Principal

Douglas Middle School is proud to have Assistant Principal, April Daniel, as part of its administrative staff.  Ms. Daniel has 23 years of experience in education. 

Education:

Ms. Daniel graduated from Douglas High School in 1992.  From there, she attended Snead State Community College and received an Associates degree in Secondary Education in 1994.  Ms. Daniel then transferred to Jacksonville State University where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education in 1996.  In 2007, Ms. Daniel decided to pursue her Master's degree in Administration from the University of Alabama.  By 2015, Ms. Daniel completed her Educational Specialist degree in Leadership in 2015.  

Career-Related Experiences:

Ms. Daniel began her teaching career from 1999-2018 as a Social Studies Teacher for Douglas Middle School.  During that time, she was also the Student Government Association Sponsor until 2021.  From 2018 through 2021, Ms. Daniel began teaching English Language Arts at Douglas Middle School.  During her years at Douglas Middle School, Ms. Daniel was also a member of the Marshall County Teacher Mentor program as well as a 21st Century Community Learning Center tutor.  In 2021, Ms. Daniel moved into administration as an Assistant Principal.  

Honors and Activities:

Ms. Daniel has been awarded Douglas Middle School's Teacher of the Year in 2001, 2005, and 2018.  Ms. Daniel was also Marshall County School's Teacher of the year for 2018.
